Casual Comfort with a Hint of Red

Welcome my friends! I hope your weekend was full of happy surprises and daring adventures. Mine was adventurous since I was finally able to gather my thoughts and courage enough to get a start on my much-awaited blog.

I love thrifting and good bargains as much as the next girl. I can safely say that I am not into popular, high-end name brand items that come with an even higher price tag. Instead, I look for the quality, durability, comfort, fit and online reviews on that product. I do pay attention to seasonal trends and fashions, yet, I firmly believe that it is far better to find timeless and versatile pieces that you love and will last a while. Because ones you find the pieces that fit your style and comfort, you can always venture out of your comfort zone to be creative by adding layers or accessories to give the outfit an instant style lift.

IMG_20160620_210718Recently, I have been obsessed with mustard color and shades of yellow. While it is true that mustard color was a huge trend at all of my favorite stores, such as Forever21, H&M, it is rare that I fall in love with the designated fashion colors of the season. But this time, I fell for it! Hard. And it was so worth it!!

When it comes to clothing choices, comfort is my number one priority these days. Boy, am I glad my days of fashion= torture & pain are gone! At least I hope so. I shudder to think of my television production days where I would be on my feet all day long in four-inch heels. Don’t get me wrong. I still love heels. But these days, comfort always comes first. And I am pretty sure that my feet are grateful, too!

Speaking of comfort, today I decided to combine casual comfort with a red faux leather cross body bag. Mustered and red are one of my favorite color combos to play with, and the dramatic effect it creates is so alluring. This mustered blouse adds a bit of freshness and spring, while a faded skinny jeans bring a hint of summer playfulness and dulls the drama of two bright colors. These faded skinny jeans slim down visually, and the stretchy fit is so comfortable. The neutral gray oxfords anchor the outfit together and feel so amazing on my feet. They are just the shoes to wear in a city like New York, where walking becomes an essential part of daily life.

Thank you so much for reading. ‘Till next time.
